Expect single lane traffic on Highway 89 on the Wyoming/Idaho border

Drivers can continue to expect short delays on Highway 89 near Geneva, Idaho as WYDOT continues culvert replacement projects on the Wyoming side of the border. Stephanie Harsha, Public Relations Specialist with the Wyoming Department of Transportation, told SVI that Lewis & Lewis has been contracted to place new box culverts. Work has been going on since February 28.

Two different portable traffic signals have been set up, one with up to 10 minute delays and the other with 2 minute delays. Traffic is down to one lane at both locations.

Harsha said that work is scheduled for completion in October of this year, but didn’t specify how long traffic delays would last. 

The project scope consists of grading, pavement surfacing, cold in place recycling, chip seal, placing precast box culverts, guardrail and other miscellaneous work on approximately 10.30 miles on WYO 89 beginning at mile marker 45.43 between Border Junction and the Idaho State Line.
