One man has been arrested and another hospitalized following a shooting over the weekend in Star Valley. Afton Police Chief Jason Romberg said the incident happened shortly before noon on Saturday, November 5 when Afton PD was requested to respond to a trailer park located in the area of the 500 block of North Washington in Afton.

Romberg stated that when officers arrived they learned a male subject had shot another male subject with a handgun. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The victim was taken to Star Valley Health and later transferred to another medical facility. The total extent of injuries to the victim is unknown at this time but he is expected to survive, according to Chief Romberg.

Charges are pending review by the Lincoln County Attorney’s Office. Chief Romberg advised that all persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation is ongoing and further details will be released as they become available.
