Schools in the Kemmerer area will remained closed Wednesday as snow removal crews continue to dig the community out of the New Year’s storm. Lincoln County School District No. 1 Superintendent Teresa Chaulk said the district will not have school on January 4 due to the road conditions in town.
“The city has asked for one more day to get snow picked up,” stated Chaulk. “We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Chaulk noted that the district does have two snow days built into the calendar on April 28 and May 19.
The school closure is for LCSD1 only, and does not impact LCSD2 schools in Cokeville and Star Valley, which will have school as scheduled.
