Paige Anne, former Vocalist contestant from Idaho, is going to Hollywood.

A former contestant of SVI Media’s Vocalist singing competition is going to Hollywood. Paige Anne, 17 of Idaho Falls, appeared on American Idol Sunday night. Anne was given a no vote from Katy Perry, but yes votes from both Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, earning her a golden ticket.

Paige, who was 16 at the time the audition was recorded, performed “What About Us” by P!nk.

“It was a real flip,” Perry said following the audition. “It was like ‘she’s not ready’ but at the end it was like ‘oh, okay, she may be able to compete.’ As of today, we’re not sending 50/50’s through.”

“You showed up at the second half of this thing gangbusters,” said Richie. “And also I think your nerves calmed down a little bit. I was praying for that one note and you hit it.”

“I don’t know what to do with you quite yet,” stated Bryan. “I think you’re young, everything about you says you’re young. Your decisions are young but you’re talented.”

In the end, Perry voted no, but the two yes votes from Richie and Bryan was all Paige needed to earn a Golden Ticket and a trip to Hollywood.

American Idol will have one more episode of auditions on March 26. The competition will begin on Monday, March 27 on ABC.

At the age of 13, Anne competed as a contestant in The Vocalist in 2020 where she finished in 2nd place. Here performances can be seen by visiting TheVocalistUSA.com.
