A Sunday evening crash on US30 has claimed the life of a Montpelier woman. The incident took place at roughly 7:47 p.m. near milepost 417, about 5 miles north of Georgetown.
Idaho State Police reports that a 2013 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 24-year-old female from Montpelier was traveling westbound when she crossed the center line into the eastbound lanes, impacting a 2014 Toyota pickup driven by a 44-year-old male. The driver of the Impala was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
A Juvenile passenger in the Impala, along with the driver of the Toyota and a 42-year-old female passenger, were all wearing seatbelts and transported to the hospital by ground ambulance with unknown injuries.
ISP stated that all lanes were blocked for approximately four hours while responders worked to clear the scene and assist those involved. The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
