• Town gives unanimous support.
The Alpine Town Council approved annexation of the Rehman Hafeez property at a Dec. 5 hearing. The council vote was 5-0 in favor of the property currently located under Lincoln County jurisdiction.
The property is located along US 26 and is bordered by town property on three sides.
Alpine’s water and sewer infrastructure would be available through Alpine Meadows.
Making the change will allow for development to work through Alpine’s permitting process.
Based on discussion, a lodging property is interested in locating at the site.
Two additional readings, in January and February are scheduled before final approval.

I’m happy the land will be annexed so the town can give feedback to the planning process. I’m
very concerned about the number of hotels, especially long-term stay hotels, going up in Alpine. We are at a crucial juncture in our town, where we are deciding what the town will look like for decades. Many developers to not live on Alpine and don’t care what the impact on the town will be.
