Slick road conditions led to a two-vehicle accident on US 89 on Saturday morning at the Grover junction.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, a van rear-ended a pickup towing a trailer with a snowmobile as they were attempting to turn off the highway.

No serious injuries were reported and no persons involved were transported for further treatment.

Traffic was slowed while the WHP, the officials from theLincoln County Sheriff’s Office and emergency responders worked the scene.

This intersection is slated for major redesign and construction by the Wyoming Department of Transportation for as early as the summer of 2024.

The accident was at least partially related to slick roads and poor driving conditions that have hampered the entire region over the past several days, resulting in closures off and one for more than 72 hours. The upcoming forecast for the Star Valley area in the coming days is calling for some snow accumulation on the valley floor, anywhere from 2-4 inches, but more cold temperatures, with win chill values dropping well below zero.
