• Second floor for wrestling room enters Phase I Engineering.
In the most recent board meeting for Lincoln County School District No. 2 (LCSD No. 2), Maintenance Manager, Warren Hicks addressed the board with a very ambitious schedule for projects over the next two months. Some of those were as big as roof replacement projects on the Bus Garage, Etna Elementary, Star Valley Middle School and Cokeville High School, all the way down to painting lines at Afton Elementary. To look at the list is daunting but the staff said their goal was to complete all of them over the next 54 days.
While many of the project included carpet and paint district wide, others included the possibilities of bigger projects in the future. One of which included the Phase I Engineering portion of a potential second floor for the Star Valley High School wrestling room. The SVHS wrestlers have dealt with chronic overcrowding due to numbers which have forced a staggered practice schedule, practice at the middle school and even practice on the stage of the auditorium. The numbers game got bigger with the inclusion of girls wrestling starting in the last year.
Another concept entering Phase I Engineering is an extended bus loop around the back of Star Valley Middle School which would allow an exit on Kennington-Burton Lane.
