Alpine Fire Department extinguishes motor coach blaze

This motor coach was being used as a primary residence according to the Alpine Fire Department.

The Alpine Fire Department responded to a fire that claimed a motor coach on Friday evening March 27.

“Friday evening at 22:24 Alpine Fire and Alpine EMS responded to a reported Mobile Home Fire,” stated Alpine Fire Chief Mike Vogt. “Upon arrival [we] found a Motor Coach 50-percent involved in flame. [The] fire was quickly extinguished with a 1 ¾ preconnect hose from engine. After [the] main fire was knocked down [the] line was advanced to [the] interior and hot spots were extinguished. [An] overhaul was then
completed with [a] thermal imager. No one was at home at the time of the fire.”

According to information provided by the Alpine Fire Department, eight members of the Alpine Fire and two members of Alpine EMS were on the scene where two engines and one ambulance responded.

Units were on scene for approximately two and a half hours according to this information.  The motor coach was being used as a primary residence and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The Alpine Fire Department reminds residents to have operating smoke alarms and make sure all appliances are shut off before leaving your home. Residents should also keep combustible items the proper distance from heat sources.
