Andrew Peasley Named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week

LARAMIE, Wyo.  (Oct. 9 ,2023) –The Wyoming Cowboys earned a Mountain West Weekly award for the third-straight week, as quarterback Andrew Peasley was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Cowboys in 24-19 a win over No. 24 Fresno State on Saturday.

It is the third time that Peasley has earned the award in his career after doing so against Tulsa last season. He also garnered the honor in his time at Utah State in a win over New Mexico.

Peasley tied a career-high with three touchdown passes in a win over the Bulldogs. He finished the contest 19-of-27, as he completed 70 percent of his passes for the second highest percentage of his career in the Brown and Gold. In his last two games, Peasley has completed 35-of-52 passes for 67 percent and four touchdowns.

He helped lead the Cowboys to 24 points in the first half on their way to their second win this season over a ranked opponent. The Cowboys recorded a season-high 27 first downs in the contest with 22 coming in the first half.

 

LARAMIE, Wyo.  (Oct. 9 ,2023) – The Davey O’Brien Foundation has announced the eight quarterbacks named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 for week six of the college football season. Wyoming quarterback Andrew Peasley was named to the list this week and is officially added to the Davey O’Brien Award’s Midseason Watch List.

The Davey O’Brien Foundation was created in 1977, and the National Quarterback Award, the oldest and most prestigious college quarterback award, was first issued in 1981. Over its time, the Davey O’Brien Foundation has given away more than $1.3 million in scholarships and university grants to help high school and college athletes transform leadership on the field into leadership in life.
