A call came into the Afton Volunteer Fire Department on Tuesday afternoon of visible flame and smoke in the Twin Cliffs road area on the north end of Afton.

The AVFD responded as did the Afton Police Department and Star Valley EMS.

Upon arriving at the scene, the smoke and flames were a result of a controlled burn by a home owner.

Currently fire danger in the area is considered “Moderate” with no fire or fireworks bans in place.

Temperatures in the area are expected to be in the low to mid 80’s this week with a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday.
