The Star Valley Braves wrestling team has now won 71 straight duels after plowing through the competition at the Jody Warren Duels at Weber High School in Pleasant View, Utah over the weekend.

The Braves did have a good battle with Bear River who Star Valley defeated 33-23. The two teams went to criteria a year ago with SVHS coming out on top.

Other than that, the team had a very one-sided drive through teams from Utah and Arizona as no other squad held them to less than 58 points. The event is named after former Star Valley standout Jody Warren who put together a Utah Hall of Fame career as a coach at Weber High School before tragically being taken too early due to heart attack.

Brayden Andrews (120), Tristian Hicks (126), Grayson Hicks (138), Koa DeLong (170), Trent Clark (8-0) and Brennan Harris (220) all went unbeaten in the varsity side of the tournament. Winston Green (113), Connor O’Brien (195) and Parker Merritt (285) each only had one loss.

In the junior varsity side of the tournament, the Braves went  (4-3) as a team with Caleb Hirschi (132) and Tony Mickelson (152) going unbeaten.

Star Valley will wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule with what should be a spirited duel against Green River in Sweetwater County on Thursday, December 20.
