BYU easily handled Idaho State on the road Saturday 42-10 which also saw the return of sophomore quarterback Zach Wilson.
Amid the celebration of the victory players could be seen wearing a shirt to support their head coach getting a contract extension. Junior wide receiver Neil Pau’u shared a story on his instagram showing BYU Athletic Director Tom Holmoe wearing the same shirt which says “#extendkalani”.

BYU accepts invitation to SoFi Hawai’i Bowl
Before the celebration of the announcement of extending BYU’s head coach, Holmoe officially announced the Cougars accepted an invitation to play in the SoFi Hawai’i Bowl on Christmas Eve.
The game will be at 6 PM MST and will be broadcast on ESPN. BYU will either face a Mountain West opponent or an American Athletic Conference team.
“We are looking forward to playing in the SoFi Hawai’i Bowl,” said Sitake. “I’m really proud of our players and pleased they have earned this opportunity to continue to improve as a program and have one more game together with our seniors. Hawai’i is a wonderful place and dear to my heart. I’m excited to take our team to the Islands to experience the warmth of the culture and the Aloha Spirit.”
This will be the second consecutive year the program has won enough games to become bowl eligible. It will also be Sitake’s third bowl appearance in his four seasons as head coach.
