On February 14, 2020, a fatal crash occurred around milepost 216 on US 310 north of Greybull, Wyoming. Around 3:23 p.m., Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the area for a motor vehicle collision.
A 2008 Ford Fusion was headed north on US 310 when the driver lost control of the vehicle on the snow-covered roadway. The Ford crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia commercial vehicle.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as 46-year-old Greybull, Wyoming resident Jason A. Haworth. Haworth was not wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The passenger in the Ford has been identified as 40-year-old Billings, Montana resident Michelle L. Bien. Bien was wearing her seatbelt and flown by helicopter to a hospital in Billings, Montana, for injuries she sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Freightliner has been identified as 61-year-old Billings, Montana resident Mark A. Grabinski. Grabinski was wearing his seatbelt and not injured in the crash.
Speed on the part of Haworth is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.
This is the 6th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2020 compared to 17 in 2019, 9 in 2018, and 10 in 2017 to date.
