Day one of the 4A West Regional Track & Field meet is in the books as teams competed in Cody on Friday.
For Star Valley there were several highlights from some of the usual suspects.
Junior Valerie Jirak continues to re-write the school record book as she posted the fasted 100-Meter time of the day with an effort of 12.06. This breaks the previous SVHS record of 12.30 held by Lisa Hale (’87) and Kima Wells (’99).
Ava Morgan set a new school record in the 100-Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.33. The previous best mark of Aspen Heward’s time of 15.51 in 2014.
The quartet of Grace Collins, Ava Morgan, Kammi Merritt, and Valerie Jirak smashed their newly minted 4 x 100-Meter Relay time set just last week of 49.83 by running a 49.05 to win the race.
On the boys side, Peter Lorch won the 3200-Meter run with a time of 10:06.
