The National Weather Service has released the final winter snowfall totals for the historic 2022-23 winter. The final snowfall total for the Town of Afton finished at 187.2 inches, smashing the previous record of 142.6 inches set in 1982.

Afton was not the only local community to break a record this year. However, Afton was the only local community included in the NWS report.

The record snowfall is now melting, bringing with it high water flows in area streams and rivers. Flooding is beginning or has already begun in many locations.
