◆ Rub shoulders with the area officers, see their vehicles in action, and enjoy good food.

On Saturday, June 10, from 12-4 p.m., Alpine Broulims will be hosting its first annual Lincoln County Peace Officers Foundation Steak Luncheon.

The event will allow the public to meet and interact with the those who serve our community. They will be available to answer questions, share insights, and engage with guests throughout the event.

The luncheon includes a steak lunch with baked potato, fresh house salad and warm roll from Broulims, Alpine for $18.99/plate. All the proceeds will go to help replenish funds for LCPOF, which are used for officers who need it.

Alan Dickey, Manager of the Alpine Broulims, says the public is invited to come to the event and “Get up close with a variety of law enforcement vehicles… and learn more about the tools and equipment used by our dedicated law enforcement professionals. It’s a unique opportunity to witness these vehicles in action.”

When asked about how the event came about, Dickey mentioned donating a Broulims gift certificate for a police fundraiser last month and started to “think about our local team.” He spoke with Sheriff Johnson about what needs they might have. Sheriff Johnson said that the funds for the foundation needed replenishing.

According to Sheriff Johnson, the purpose of the foundation “Support the needs of law enforcement and families of law enforcement.”

Some ways they have used funds in the past include to pay for hotel rooms when a law enforcement family member had died, get new equipment for the Search & Rescue, and event sponsorships.

There was a bowling with officers event that was paid for by the foundation, inviting kids to come and bowl with officers.
