Law enforcement continues searching for multiple suspects involved in a stabbing incident that occurred last month in Alpine. The suspects are believed to be undocumented immigrants that have left the area, possibly going back to Mexico.

“We’ve done all the investigative work. Affidavits have been filed and arrest warrants have been issued,” stated Captain Brian Andrews with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. “We’re just trying to locate these individuals. We don’t believe they are in the area any more, possibly out of state or out of country.”

Andrews said the Sheriff’s Office continues to follow up on leads as to where the suspects could be. “We’re still hoping we can track them down so we can get that case prosecuted,” said Andrews.

The incident occurred on August 6 when two people were stabbed at an apartment complex in Alpine. A total of four suspects fled the scene before first responders arrived. The two victims were transported to Star Valley Health for treatment and were released shortly after. During the investigation officers discovered approximately ½ a pound of marijana that had been in the possession of one of the suspects.

A total of four suspects were believed to have been involved, two of which have been identified with arrest warrants issued. They include Jesus De La Torre, 29, who has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Possession of a controlled substance, and Brayan Aguilera, 21, who has been charged with Aggravated Assault. In the days after the incident Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson stated they were not able to identify the other two suspects based on their undocumented status.
