Thayne Elementary School students participated in a School Spirit Design Contest where interested students submitted graphic designs to staff and parents for judging. The winning design, by 3rd grade student, Piper Boogaard, is being printed on t-shirts for TES students and staff to enjoy wearing and show their school spirit.

“Our objective in the art contest was to provide students with an opportunity to be a part of our continued drive for school spirit,” said Daniel Barnes, Principal at TES, in an email to SVI Media last week. “We had a lot of entries!”

Through a voting process that began in January, parents and staff were able to view all the final designs and choose their favorite. Each of the grade level winners’ artwork will be printed and displayed in the hallways of the school.

“We are so excited to celebrate the talents of our students and to enhance our school spirit in a fun way,” said Barnes. “A big shoutout to Mrs. McKenna Robinson for going the extra mile to orchestrate this whole project.”

Several businesses in the community contributed resources to the project, including Cowboy Custom Carts, Century 21, Bank of Star Valley, NJ Cattle, and Star Valley Construction.

“We are SO excited about our School Spirit Design Contest,” Barnes concluded. “Go Huskies!”
