Katie Dandridge, a senior with Lady Braves Soccer signed to play at the next level by signing her letter of intent to play for Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming next season.

Dandridge has been a mainstay for the Star Valley girls for multiple seasons particularly anchoring the defensive line. In recent games she has moved around as the team has leaned on her versatility.

“Katie came in her sophomore year and we hadn’t seen a lot from her and we had her in her first JV game and Zeke [Coach Mendenhall] always says she was scoring goals and taking shots,” replied head coach Jessica Bagley. “From there she showed she was a varsity level player. I think she has been flexible in any position. She has the right mindset of a defensive stance so that helps her in all areas of the field.”

Bagley also pointed out that Dandridge has overcome several injuries this season and continued to play.

“I’ve had the privilege of coaching her in soccer and been in her classes and I think the world of Katie,” she added.”I think she’s a leader on and off the field and has incredible moral character. Watching her the last three years she has showed passion and desire to win and I’m super excited she has signed to go on to play more soccer and further her career. I really think with her hard work she’s going to be successful anywhere she goes. She will be a difficult player for us to lose on the field and as a person in general.”

Dandridge is a multi-sport athlete for SVHS and has been part of the Lady Braves’ Volleyball and Basketball teams as well.

According to SVHS Activities Director, Rob Erickson, Dandridge is the tenth local athlete to commit to playing and competing at the collegiate level from the Class of 2024.
