In an interview with SVI Media’s Duke Dance on Weekday Wake-up, Addie Vigil explained her decision to run for Mrs. Lincoln County. Vigil expressed a desire for a role model like herself, emphasizing her love for uniqueness and her passion for advocating mental health awareness. “I love uniqueness and advocating mental health awareness and [helping others] just embrace who they are,” she said.

This month is Men’s Mental Health Awareness and Vigil aims to help others feel comfortable sharing their journey and being comfortable to reach out for help.

Mrs. Lincoln County 2025 openly shared the fact that she too is in therapy, and hopes those she will have an impact on or who may look up to her will be comfortable sharing their own journeys. She shared that being Mrs. Lincoln County will allow her to share that message more publicly and frequently to those who can benefit from those important, albeit difficult conversations, which will hopefully make the conversations easier.

Vigil, a preschool teacher, highlighted the significance of teaching emotional management from a young age. She shared her approach with her students, saying, “It’s okay to have these feelings and here are some good solutions to solve your problems and how to handle them.”

As Mrs. Lincoln County begins her representation of the area, she will hopes to become involved in events and asks that people reach out to her for any opportunities she can be involved in. She will also be focusing on her uniqueness and encourages the public to stop and talk with her.

Next year, Vigil will be competing for Mrs. Wyoming and, if successful in earning that title, will then compete for Mrs. America.
