With June now evaporating into July, it’s only a few weeks until the 2024 Lincoln County Fair comes to town and for those wishing to save some money and perhaps have an improved experience, there are options online at lincolncountyfair.info.

Fair Board member, Ryan Lyman, spoke about the entertainment coming to the grounds starting on August 3.

“The big events start with the truck and tractor pull,” he said in an interview with SVI Media. “They allow local entrants if you feel like you have something that can pull that sled. It will be high-octane so hopefully we’ll see some smoke and some fire.”

Another event involving motorsports is back on the schedule as well.

“The endurocross is back,” Lyman continued. “It was exciting last year. They build an incredible course and there are exciting things there with a lot of local riders. There are riders that come from around the region as well.”

The main arena events continue with the Horse Pulls on Tuesday and the final edition of The Vocalist on Wednesday where all nine previous winners will be competing for a $10,000 prize. Freestyle reining is on Thursday and the PRCA Rodeo will cap off the week with action on Friday and Saturday.

According to Lyman, this is the second year that the Season Pass option is available.

“You can save some money doing that,” he said. “It’s basically a ticket for each night in the main arena. That includes a drink at the show, assigned seating with some new seats. You don’t have to wait in line. You also get closer parking which is a pretty big deal.”

Lyman said new seats have been installed in the grandstands and those wishing to just pay for parking have that option as well. “You can buy just parking this year if you want to. They are limited so if you’re interested in a closer parking spot you can buy those as well.”

Families can also save a few bucks with advanced carnival tickets.

“You can save $10 if you get them before the carnival comes,” Lyman said. “They set up and get going on Tuesday so it’s full price by then.”

The first day of the fair has the Kickin’ Klassics Car Show on the grounds.

“There are some local entries and others from around the area,” Lyman added. “It’s free to come look at the vehicles and food vendors will be there prior to the parade.”

The fair parade is scheduled for 5 p.m. on August 3.

Another big draw for the fair are the acts under the big top.

“We have a mixture of country and rock bands,” Lyman said. “There will be some bluegrass, some mariachi, the hypnotist and the Tap Classics. Some jugglers and stilt walkers and magic and a mix of everything.”

Fair books are available in PDF form at lincolncountyfair.info as well. Hard copies are available from board members and community booth coordinators. The opening date to start registering for animals is July 1.

Lyman added that there are a few more things on the grounds this year.

“We will have sea otters and a T-Rex will be walking around and a Johnny Depp impersonator as well.”
