Winning Cowboy Draw ticket sold at AJ’s Discount Liquor in Afton

According to the Wyoming Lottery Facebook page, someone has purchased a winning ticket in the Cowboy Draw game from AJ’s Discount Liquor in Afton.

The posting encourages anyone who might have purchased a ticket from the store to check their numbers. The jackpot total of $1,417,663 would be the largest recorded in the Star Valley area although the Cowboy Draw has been fairly kind to those buying their tickets here. In 2020 a ticket for $800,000 was sold in Thayne and in 2021 a jackpot totaling $794,109 was sold in Alpine.

According to the Wyoming Lottery website, the winning numbers drawn on Monday were 6, 15, 25, 33 and 44. The Cowboy Draw will now reset to $250,000 with the next draw taking place on July 11.

Former Wyoming Governor Matt Mead authorized the creation of a state lottery on March 13, 2013 as Wyoming entered into agreements with other U.S. lotteries for multi-state games.

Wyoming added Cowboy Draw in 2015 and Lucky for Life in 2016. The game 2by2 was started in 2021.

Wyoming is among a group including Delaware, Mississippi, South Carolina, Montana and New Jersey that allows for winners to remain anonymous.
