Ruth M Brown was born on July 17, 1924, to Alf and Lena Walton. She had an older sister Sybil and a younger brother Jay. Ruth was born in Thayne, Wyoming in the home that still exist today on the north end of town , now with white siding and a red tin roof.
Ruth currently lives in Southern California and has been spending the summers up in Star Valley for many years with her husband Keith Brown. Keith passed away about 6 1/2 years ago.
Ruth and Keith met at the dance in Palmdale, Wyoming. They were eventually married on January 1, 1947. In the fall of 1950 Ruth and Keith moved to California for the “winter”. They ended up staying there as Keith found some good jobs to support his family.
Ruth and Keith lived mostly in Lakewood California, and Ruth still resides there to this day, coming to Star Valley in the summers as mentioned.
Ruth has three children, Joyce S, Allen A, and Brian K. She also has nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.
Her 100th birthday celebration will be at the LDS church in Thayne on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 7 p.m.
