Star Valley Health Auxiliary allocates funding for new equipment

• $12,000 used for new canopy and lift chair

Star Valley Health Auxiliary President, Mary Miller shared some insight on this years beneficiaries of Auxiliary funding. Approval was given for Star Valley Health Auxiliary to purchase a new canopy for the Physical Therapy Department and a lift for the Care Center.

With 25 active members of the Auxiliary, they raise funds throughout the year, with the next Bingo Night fundraising event to be held early next year.

Along with numerous dinner and bingo nights to raise funds making up the majority of the donation to the canopy and lift, Miller shares, “we [also] depend a lot on  community business donations and we’re very grateful for those too.”

Miller also shared her gratitude for those who shop at the auxiliary store, located in the hospital.

Anything that isn’t approved by hospital administration gets submitted to the Auxiliary, where they determine what they are able to help contribute funds toward. Star Valley Health explains the auxiliary as ”a valuable resource which enables SV Health to provide the little extras that improves our patient’s experience from ‘good’ to ‘excellent’”

For those interested in helping or volunteering with the auxiliary, Miller suggests calling the administration office.

“We are always looking for new members,” says Miller. “It is a great way to serve the community.”
