The Evanston service game proved hard to handle for Star Valley as they trailed virtually the entire match beginning with a first set that got out of hand early 11-6. The Devils pursued their advantage to a 19-11 lead which forced a Star Valley timeout. The Devils then finished the opening frame on a 6-1 run to close things out.
Set 2 was more of the same although the Lady Brave were the beneficiaries of more Evanston mistakes which allowed them to stay within hailing distance but they could never close the gap which led to an 0-2 hole.
It wasn’t until the third set that it felt as though the home team was able to find they rfooting and battled with the Devils to ties at 5 and 11 and took their first lead of the night in the teens but saw things reverse in a 21-19 Evanston lead which lead to another Star Valley timeout. An extended match was not in the cards for the Lady Braves as the Devils closed out the set and the match for the win. Star Valley fell to (9-14)(1-2) with Evanston improving to (18-9)(1-0).
