• Directors are seeking several principal actors and singers as well as chorus members.
Afton’s Salt River Arts Society is, once again, offering the beloved Forgotten Carols, by Michael McLean, as a Christmas event at the historic Ford Theatre. Auditions for the show are set for Thursday and Friday, October 4-5 from 6-7 p.m. in the Ford. Directors are seeking up to 10 principal male and female singers and actors as well as a full chorus.
Interested individuals should arrive at auditions prepared to sing a Christmas song of their choice. They will also be asked to read one or two scenes or monologues from the show. Actors who are cast in the show will be asked to attend rehearsals from 7-9 every Monday evening beginning October 14. Performances are scheduled for December 12, 13, and 14 and dress rehearsals will be held every evening during the week prior to performances.
“We are so excited for another amazing production of ‘The Forgotten Carols,’” said Jaclyn Lechner, SRAC Representative, in an email to SVI Media. “This show has been such a special part of bringing in the Christmas Season at The Ford. We are so pleased that the community has come together for these in the past two years, and we are looking forward to another year.”
Lechner invites anyone interested in any way to please audition. “Come and audition! The music in this show is my favorite part. The songs are touching and give meaningful insight to what Christmas means for people. It’s a fun way to invite the Christmas Spirit this season!”
