Fans of Halloween are in for a treat with the annual Star Valley Arts Council Halloween Extravaganza and 4-H Fall Carnival happening Monday, October 28 from 4:30 to 8:30 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. Both events serve as fundraisers for the sponsoring organizations.

Extravaganza creator, Val Chadwick Bagley, who serves as a board member on the Arts Council, feels that the event is sure to please, sharing all the details in an interview on the SVI Radio Network last week. “This is probably the most fun you can have in October with your family…I’m so excited that people come to this thing dressed up! So many kids and adults wear costumes, so this year we’re going to have a costume parade!”

Guests will be invited to parade their costumes several times throughout the evening’s festivities, which include performances by zombie dancers from Dezi’s Dance Studio and Voodoo witch dancing presented by the Tap Classics. “It’s a renowned act and so we’re bringing that.” At least four activities each hour are scheduled outside the Extension Buildings to keep folks engaged as they wait in line to enter the spook alleys and carnival.

The carnival and spook alleys are designed to entertain guests of all ages and abilities.  “It’s very children and family friendly,” said Bagley. “There’s nothing scary about it, but it is spooky. It’s all about the atmosphere and the fun and the festiveness of Halloween. If you want to be scared, there’s always the Zombie Zone that’s at the end of Spooky World.” If guests prefer not to enter the Zombie Zone, an exit is provided just prior to reaching that part of the activity.

Festive music will keep the crowd smiling. Additionally, the Jack’Stand food truck will be on-site along with GOAT Donuts and free hot chocolate.  These donuts “are amazing, and that in itself is worth coming for.”

Guests should watch signage at the event to ensure that they are waiting in their desired line. Guests to the carnival can purchase activity tickets for $1 each at the door. Guests to the Extravaganza can buy tickets at the door or skip the line by purchasing tickets online at starvalleyarts.org. Cost is $10 per person or $35 for a family of immediate household members.

“I can’t overstate how cool this is going to be,” said Bagley. “Seriously. So please come.”
