The Afton Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred during the Town of Afton Parade of Lights on Saturday, November 30, resulting in one person being taken to the hospital.
According to Afton Police Chief Jason Romberg, an adult female was struck in the roadway in the area of the 200 block of North Washington St. by a person driving a side-by-side in the parade.
“During the course of the investigation, it was learned a person who was in the parade began travelling south on South Washington St. as parade vehicles were still travelling north,” said Romberg. “An adult female went into the roadway to get candy. The operator of the side-by-side did not see the adult female and she was struck.”
Chief Romberg said APD and Star Valley Health EMS responded. The female was transported to Star Valley Health and subsequently released later that evening.
The Afton Police Department is still completing their investigation, stated Chief Romberg.
