Cutter teams are off to the races

The 2019-2020 All American Cutter and Chariot Racing Season officially opened on Saturday, December 7.
Race dates for the 2019-2020 Season are as follows: December 21, December 28, January 11-12 (WW Invitational), January 18, January 24, January 25. The race schedule is weather dependent.

Races begin at 1 p.m. and take place on the cutter racing track west of Afton. Admission is $5. Concessions are available for purchase and prize drawings take place at each event.

Star Valley is the home of cutter racing. The first competitions took place between area ranching and dairy families.

According to the All American Cutter and Chariot Racing Association, through the years cutter racing has “developed into highly competitive chariot racing with well-bred, trained racehorses.”
