Fire extinguisher minimizes damage to Alpine home following fire
Quick action by a homeowner and firefighters resulted in minimal damage to an Alpine home.
The Alpine Fire Department responded to a home in Alpine at 4:17 on Monday, April 24. Upon arrival crews found a fire in the bedroom. The owner had used an extinguisher to minimize the fire and fire crews were able to fully extinguish the fire. Damage was kept to two walls and some furnishings.
The Alpine Fire Department reminds residents to be careful when discarding hot items into a trash container and to call 911 in case of an emergency, not the fire department as it is not manned 24/7.
