First-Ever “Stripe Out” of War Memorial Stadium Set for Wyoming-Missouri Game Aug. 31

Laramie, Wyo. (June 17, 2019) —  A first-time event in the history of War Memorial Stadium is being planned for Wyoming’s 2019 season opener versus Missouri on Aug. 31.  Wyoming Athletics is asking all Cowboy fans to participate in the “Stripe Out” of War Memorial Stadium by wearing Brown or Gold t-shirts based on their seat location.  The goal is to have alternating sections of the stadium be Brown and Gold.

• Missouri Only the Second SEC Team to Ever Play in War Memorial Stadium
The Aug. 31 season opener vs. Missouri will feature only the second appearance by a Southeastern Conference (SEC) team in Wyoming Football history.  The opportunity to see an SEC team in Laramie is expected to create a high demand for tickets to this year’s Wyoming season opener.


• Stripe Out T-Shirts Available at Brown and Gold Outlet Online and at Laramie and Cheyenne Locations
Limited edition “Stripe Out” t-shirts will be sold through the Brown and Gold Outlet online (BrownandGold.com) and at both the Laramie and Cheyenne locations.  They will be available for purchase for only $10 per shirt.  Information will be provided so fans will know whether to purchase a brown or a gold t-shirt based on the section their game tickets are located in.

A limited number of Stripe Out t-shirts will be available for UW students on game day.

• Special Pre-Sale for Missouri Game Tickets
Due to the expected high demand for the Missouri game, UW Athletics is offering a special opportunity to register for early access to Missouri tickets before they go on-sale to the general public on July 17.

For the next month, Cowboy fans may go online to register for early access at: GoWyo.com/Tickets and under Wyoming Football select “Mizzou Pre-Sale”.

Once on the Pre-Sale site, select the number of Missouri tickets you want to add to your account and you’ll receive an e-mail the afternoon of Friday, July 12 with instructions on how to complete your order.

The only other time an SEC team has come to War Memorial Stadium, the Cowboys defeated Ole Miss 37-32 in 2004 en route to a Las Vegas Bowl Championship.

Single-game tickets for all Wyoming home games will go on sale July 17.

Season tickets to the 2019 University of Wyoming Football season may be purchased for as low as $159 for adults and $89 for children ages 3-12.  Purchasing season tickets for the 2019 season will also save fans over 20 percent versus purchasing single-game tickets.

∙If you purchase your season tickets on or before Friday, June 28, all order charges for football season tickets will be waived.


• Recent University of Wyoming Alumni (Classes 2015-19) are being offered a special season-ticket price of $99 for general admission season tickets (up to 2 tickets) and will be provided a Brown Lot parking pass.

• Full-time UW Faculty and Staff are eligible for a 25% discount on up to 2 season tickets.  Full-time Faculty and Staff are also eligible to receive a match for any Cowboy Joe Club donations made in connection with purchasing season tickets.  Contact the UW Athletics Ticket Office at (307) 766-7220 for more information.

• Exciting Season on Tap for Wyoming Cowboys in 2019
∙Dynamic Group of Returning Cowboys — The 2019 Cowboy Football team will feature a strong core of 13 returning starters who have been part of three consecutive bowl-eligible teams the past three seasons.  That group of returning Cowboys are led by senior All-America candidates Logan Wilson at linebacker and Cooper Rothe at place-kicker.  Among the exciting young Cowboys returning are redshirt freshman quarterback Sean Chambers and sophomore running back Xazavian Valladay.

• Four-Game Winning Streak — The  Cowboys will enter the 2019 season with a four-game winning streak.

• Attractive Home Schedule — The 2019 home schedule will feature Southeastern Conference (SEC) member the Missouri Tigers in the season opener on Saturday, Aug. 31 and rival Colorado State in the home finale on Nov. 22.  The schedule also features September home games versus non-conference opponent Idaho and Mountain West Conference foe UNLV.  Home games versus MW opponents New Mexico and Nevada in the month of October round out the 2019 home schedule.
