Rawlins: 8 Star Valley 48

Brant Nelson moved up to the second spot on the school’s All-time passing yardage and passing touchdowns list while throwing for 169 yards and four scores as the Star Valley Braves jailed the Outlaws 48-8 on Friday to capture their first win of the season.

The Star Valley offensive line blocked for a whopping 19 different ball carriers on Friday as the team rushed for over 300 yards. Lane Oesch led the attack with 76 yards on just five carries.

Tristan Kleeman, Cache Bagley, JaAren Smith, Cody Gustofson, Gabe Nield, Zac Patterson and Waylon Nelson all had touchdowns.

Nelson also intercepted Rawlins’ quarterback Ryan Flack twice and the Braves’ defense allowed just 60 yards rushing while forcing a total of four turnovers. Flack finished the game going 12 for 21 for 140 yards. He hit Mitchell Allard for the Outlaws’ lone touchdown in the second quarter.

Star Valley (1-3) now hits the road for perhaps their two biggest contests of the season as they face the Jackson Broncs (3-1) next Friday and then the Powell Panthers (3-0) the following weekend.
