Groundbreaking for Alpine medical facility is May 21

The following is a release from Star Valley Health

Star Valley Health is delighted to invite you to the Alpine Healthcare Facility groundbreaking event.
Star Valley Health is a 22-bed critical access hospital headquartered in Afton, WY. We are expanding our footprint in Alpine to increase the services we are able to offer to Alpine and the surrounding community, putting you closer to home and healing.

Join us in celebrating the groundbreaking on Friday, May 21 at 5:00 PM MST. Our goals for expanding in Alpine are:
• Provide additional family medicine clinic space
• More convenient urgent care location
• Increased room for our specialty physicians, general surgery, pain management, dermatology, and orthopedics
• Space to grow emergency services

The project will be located in the Alpine Meadows subdivision at the junction of U.S. Highways 89 & 26 at the mouth of Snake River canyon. The initial development totals 22,500 square feet of space. The first phase includes 12,500 square feet of space for family practice, laboratory, imaging, specialty clinic, and urgent care services. The remaining work will be shelled space for future medical services to meet the needs of the community.

Mike Hunsaker, Chief Operating Officer, stated: “On behalf of Star Valley Health, it is an honor to mark this moment in the valley’s history. The Star Valley Health team has been dedicated to making this project a reality, and this event represents new beginnings for improved relationships and increased medical service offerings in the community. This medical facility will be located just steps away from one of our busiest highways, setting a great example of the importance of convenient healthcare that is close to home, while maintaining the high-quality and affordability we are known for.”

“Star Valley’s mission is to support individuals, families, and our community in achieving their best health. One way we can help fulfill this mission is to establish a coordinated accessible network of ambulatory sites in the valley that delivers value to the wonderful patients we serve. Alpine will need access to more healthcare services to better serve its growing population now and in the future and Star Valley Health is committed to achieving this objective.” CEO, Daniel Ordyna stated.

“We are grateful to our design-build partner, the Erdman Company, who has worked with us since the development of this project in 2018. Additionally, The Refuge at Alpine Airpark generously donated $50,000 in the fall of 2020 for this development and the Town of Alpine and the Alpine Meadows Property Owners Association have provided their gracious assistance to help make this medical facility become a reality.”

In order to follow proper COVID-19 protocol, all participants are encouraged to bring a mask, social distance and follow proper hand hygiene.
