Horse Warriors-More than just riding

Program information can be found at www.horsewarriors.com/about.

• Year-round program focuses on riding, service, leadership, art and more for ages 12-18

Starting from the ground up, students of Horse Warriors™ will attend courses at the Diamondfly Ranch, located in Thayne. They will develop skills they can take both on and off the trail.

Courses include relationship building, horsemanship, social skill development, art, creative writing, public speaking, and academic assistance.

Focused around safety, the Horse Warriors™ program will help students learn how to build their riding skills, horse communication and have hands-on learning within small groups.

During the summer, students dedicate two weeks to Horse Warriors™, supplemented by monthly discussion and art groups throughout the academic year, featuring guidance from accomplished artists.

As students learn the skills necessary to ride and build strong relationships with the majestic animals and one another, the program teaches how to become self-aware with emotions as well as physical awareness. Both of which are key in becoming a great rider and member of society.

Within the program descriptions, it explains the hope to help students “rise above the destructive side of peer pressure by teaching clear communications skills, trust and accountability. It helps create a sense of self-confidence by developing levels of proficiency in horse mastership, group dynamics, mentoring, and community service.”

This journey of learning and personal development not only empowers students but also positions them as mentors for younger participants, enriching the year-round programs offered by Diamondfly Ranch. Course slots will likely fill quickly. For more information on the programs available and to sign up, visit horsewarriors.com/about.
