Independent Notes: New year, new opportunities.

The new year brings opportunities.

Some seats will change in 2025.

Dan Dockstader currently serves the residents of Senate District 16 in the Wyoming Legislature. He is also on the board of Lower Valley Energy. He and his wife, Kim, have owned the Star Valley Independent for nearly 40 years.

Our town councils and county will see some limited change.

The state will see many new Legislators arriving in Cheyenne, most coming to the House.

In all of these positions, some of the newly elected have experience, while others will be on a sharp learning curve.

But the big change and I mean big change as it pertains to our state, is the Presidency.

This change alone is crucial to Wyoming, an energy based state. It’s the energy supplements for our local governments and schools.

It’s the energy that provides thousands of jobs across the Cowboy State.

It’s the energy that drives the Cowboy State economy.

This is a time of opportunity for a state that is a key driving force of the nation’s energy.

It will be crucial for our local governments, state government and the nation to plan accommodatingly and not miss the opportunities that start with 2025.

My wife, Kim and I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2025. We hope to see you along the way.
