Job opportunities available with Star Valley Health

Recruiter Specialist Kelsey Bailey from Star Valley Health joined SVI to discuss possible job opportunities with the company and exactly what they may be looking for.

She says the pandemic has changed the way the workforce not only looks for her organization, but what employees are looking for.

“Looking for more quality, meaningful work,” Bailey said. “A job where they feel like they are valued and appreciated.”

She says she believes others can find that at Star Valley Health as you are helping to take care of the community and your loved ones. She also said there are many opportunities for growth within the company.

“You don’t have to go outside the valley to find that,” Bailey said. “We really try to promote people internally as much as we can.”

She says they need people of all different ages, experience, and education level. She also says while nurses are an important part of the workforce there, they are all not working in that occupation.

One perk of working within the organization is there are opportunities for tuition assistance according to Bailey. So, if you completed a semester of college while you working there, they can help you pay that.

She says a lot of people do online school and then you have to be sent somewhere for laboratory classes for the hands on learning. That is where her company can come into play.

“A lot of students come and do their hands on, clinical stuff at Star Valley Health,” Bailey said. “It’s pretty easy to set that up with the university.”

She says one thing people need to remember though is that you do not always need a degree to work in healthcare. She says there are a lot of jobs at the hospital that the organization does in-house training for.

“Things like CNAs, medical assistants, surgical techs,” Bailey said. “There’s just a lot of opportunities for people who just want to get on-the-job training.”

She says they always try to stay as competitive as possible with pay. They are offering a sign on bonus for full time employees. $10,000 for their specific skilled, hard to fill positions and $2,000 for all other positions. They also offer a benefits package which includes tuition assistance and starting at four weeks paid time off. They also provide a 6% match on retirement contributions.

She says the team is committed to providing quality healthcare to the community and anyone interested in contributing to that can contact her at 307-885-5974.
