Man who pleaded guilty to string of burglaries sentenced to probation, community service

PARIS — A man who pleaded guilty to one felony charge has been ordered to serve probation and complete community service.

Kenny Neil Hansen, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of burglary after reaching a plea agreement with the Bear Lake County Prosecutor’s Office, court records show. In exchange, two additional counts of the same charge were dismissed.

During a Feb. 15 hearing, Hansen was ordered to serve five years of felony probation by District Judge Cody Brower.

Hansen and 27-year-old Adrian Harley Salerno were arrested in September following a high-speed chase near Saint Charles.

Officers investigating a string of burglaries at local businesses when a vehicle connected to the burglaries by one of the victims drove past the scene.

 

Following a chase, Hansen and Salerno were found in possession of, among other items, stolen chicken strips taken from an area restaurant. Both were charged with burglary, while Salerno was also charged with eluding an officer.

 

In addition to probation, Brower ordered Hansen to pay $1,952.32 in fees and fines, and complete 100 hours of community service. A prison sentence of three to five years was suspended.

Salerno was sentenced to a rider by District Judge Stephen Dunn after pleading guilty to felony charges of burglary and eluding an officer.

Following his arrest for this matter, Salerno was charged with one count of rape. A trial in regards to that charge is scheduled for March 25.
