CHEYENNE, Wyo. –  Governor Mark Gordon has released a new episode of his podcast, “The Morning Gather” with a discussion of the Rock Springs BLM Resource Management Plan (RMP). On this episode, the Governor is joined by John Hay of the Rock Springs Grazing Association and public lands advocate Steff Kessler for a wide-ranging discussion. Topics include the history of the RMP area; the planning process and the state’s “place at the table”; recent efforts by stakeholders to collaborate and find consensus; and the future of public land management in southwest Wyoming.

More information on the governor-appointed stakeholder task force, which will develop recommendations to be delivered to the Governor and BLM, can be found on the Ruckelshaus Institute’s project website. The site includes a link to provide public comment on the Rock Springs RMP. The comment deadline is January 17, 2024.

The podcast episode may be streamed on Spotify, as well as from a link on the Podcasts page of the Governor’s website.
