New playground equipment for Box H Park has been purchased

Design Request: An artist rendering of the new playground equipment coming to the Box H Park in Fairview.

Emily Martin from the Box H Park Board of Directors says the new playground equipment they have been raising money for has now been purchased.

She says they are expecting to get it by Spring or whenever the “Wyoming winter” ends. She says the artist rendering released last year is close to what you’ll see.

“There is some color variation,” Martin said. “But everything else is pretty much identical.”

She says there will be a toddler structure which will be the only in the upper valley. There will also be a structure with different slides that stands high. There will also be a swing set.

She also says this will be a community build where it’s an all-hands coming together to install the new equipment. She says they anticipate being done within 24 hours. She says this means they will have three pieces of equipment that need to be sold and hauled off.

“So, we are going to host an auction,” Martin said. “Those items include the large structure that has the two slides, the monkey bars, the swings. There’s a smaller set that’s farther to the south that has one slide, monkey bars, and swings. Then the notorious big, tall slide.”

She says the auction will be hosted on their Facebook page.

“It will be a live auction,” Martin said. “That will be live for ten days.”

She says the highest bidder will get to come and remove it themselves. The auction will begin Friday March 1 at 8 a.m. and there will be three different Facebook posts for each of the old playground equipment. They will close the bidding on Saturday March 9 at 8 p.m. She also says she is happy to see this more than two-year project finally happening.

“I have really put my heart and soul into this project,” Martin said. “But I couldn’t do it alone.”

She says she has had a great board supporting her and is grateful to the community for really embracing this effort.
