New women’s health clinic to open in Alpine

A new women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Clinic called Ferry Peak Women’s Health is set to open in Alpine starting April 18.

Founder Brittany Quinn is a board-certified nurse practitioner, and she has an advanced degree and specializes in women’s health. She says she has lived in Star Valley since 2016 and for the past four years she has been commuting to Idaho Falls and after having twins last year decided she needed to do a change.

“I am really excited to enter this phase,” Quinn said. “To help the women of Star Valley because I think there’s a real need. I think a lot of people have to go to Jackson or drive to Idaho Falls for that care. It can be inconvenient to do that.”

One of her main focuses has been on menopause. She says she received a special certification that makes her a Certified Menopause Practitioner.

“Just meaning I went for extra testing,” Quinn said. “Did a bunch of extra studying that way.”

She says she also will be able to help women in all stages of life. She will be able to help with ordering mammograms and colonoscopies. She also can help with contraception, common health issues, and overall health visits.

She also says women’s health really is a specialty. The nurse practitioner says a primary care physician can help with general matters such as pap smears, screenings, and matters like that. What she offers is specific women’s health concerns like sexual health, pelvic organ prolapse, contraception, etc.

“I have a lot of experience with those procedures,” Quinn said. “And issues that can arise with lots of different things.”

She says most insurance companies cover preventative health services and so a lot of what she offers is covered and she takes most carriers. She says she can work out any insurance concerns with you before your appointment and she also does cash pay if someone would rather go that route.

Quinn says she is located where the Greys River Hair Studio used to be. She is sharing the space with Star Valley Massage. While she does not open until April 18 you can set up ap- pointments with her online at ferrypeakwomenshealth.com or you can call (307) 654-2026.
