Rocky Mountain Power has informed the City of Kemmerer that they will be doing an overhaul on the Naughton Power Plants beginning March 28. The overhaul is scheduled to continue through the first of May.

Two hundred to three hundred people are expected to come into the Kemmerer/Diamondville community over these five weeks. The number will fluctuate as the project work dictates. Rocky Mountain Power anticipates that contractors will begin mobilization around the middle of March.

The City of Kemmerer says that some of these workers will be commuting from neighboring towns, based on the availability of accommodations in the Kemmerer/Diamondville community.

The City of Kemmerer is encouraging businesses to prepare for this influx of workers by considering expanding their hours of operation.
