• Nearly 2,700 coloring pages submitted into the contest
After weeks of creativity and vibrant colors, students from kindergarten through sixth grade across local schools submitted a staggering 2,696 entries to the Edwards Law Office Christmas Coloring Contest. The community-wide event brought young artists together, showcasing their talents while spreading holiday cheer.
The Grand Prize winner, Ryker Heiner, a sixth grader from Etna Elementary, impressed judges with a standout coloring page sponsored by Archery Unlimited. As a reward for his artistic efforts, Heiner received the coveted Grand Prize of $100 cash, courtesy of Edwards Law Office. J.R. Richert from Edwards Law Office announced Heiner’s win during the Weekday Wake-Up on Friday, December 20.
“It’s a lot of work for a lot of people involved,” Heiner expressed during the announcement. “We appreciate our sponsors, we appreciate the diligence of teachers, the schools, and of course the young artists from every grade level.” He concluded with a heartfelt message to families, saying, “We hope your households are filled with smiles.”
In addition to the Grand Prize, each sponsor of the contest selected winners from each grade level. These grade-level winners are being contacted directly by their respective sponsors to claim their prizes.
The contest also recognized group achievements. Richert shared the class with the most entries came from a Kindergarten class at Thayne Elementary. They will be having a pizza party from Artisan Chef Maggie.
Thayne Elementary had the most entries of all the schools, winning the entire school tickets to Salt River Cineplex in Afton.
Richert does not see the coloring contest to end anytime soon as it has brought together teachers, students, families and the community to help spread holiday cheer.
