Storm expected to drop significant snowfall in Star Valley; Western Wyoming

The heaviest snow is expected to accumulate between Sunday night and Monday night. Travel is expected to be “difficult to impossible” over that time.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) a Winter Storm Warming and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Sunday evening, February 2 through Monday evening February 3.

The NWS is calling for 6-8″ of snow in the Star Valley are and anywhere from 4-6″ in Jackson and Kemmerer. The storm is expected to drop anywhere from 8-18′ of snow in Central Wyoming in the Lander and Riverton areas as well as Casper.

The NWS is stating that travel will be difficult to impossible and residents and travelers can expect road closures across the area.
