SVI Sports Preview: Oct: 4-6

It’s Homecoming at KHS! The Rangers are hosting the Glenrock Herders under the lights at 7 p.m.

Kemmerer High School
Football – The Rangers are celebrating Homecoming this week as they host #2 Glenrock on Friday night with a 7 p.m. kick-off. The Herders have won the last six meetings in the series. Volleyball – It’s a home match on the Kemmerer court on Thursday evening as they Lady Rangers host Manila (UT). The match begins at 6:30 p.m.
Girls Swimming – It’s a big two-day event in Laramie as the swimmers travel to Albany County on October 12 & 13.

 

On paper the Panther are heavy favorites against Rocky Mountain this Friday afternoon.

Cokeville High School
Football – #2 Cokeville is rolling as they put their undefeated record on the line in a 4 p.m. kick-off against Rocky Mountain. Watch the game on SVI-3 or listen to the game on KVSI by clicking here.

Volleyball – The #1(1A) Lady Panthers fell on Wednesday evening to undefeated #1 (3A) Lyman 3-1 (9-25, 18-25, 25-20, 11-25). The team is now off until October 12 & 13 when they take on Little Snake River and Saratoga respectively.

 

 

Bear Lake will be in Malad to try and stop a 5-game losing streak Friday evening.

Football – The Bears will be trying to end a five-game skid as they travel to Malad for a 7 p.m. kick-off. Listen to the game via traditional radio in Montpelier on 101.7 FM and 1450 AM or listen online via KVSI.

Volleyball – The Lady Bears volleyball team is off this week with their next competition scheduled as a home match against Malad on Wednesday, October 10.

It’s the Battle for Sublette County as the Wranglers host the Punchers this Friday night on SVI-2

Football – It’s the Sublette County War as the Wranglers host the Big Piney Punchers in a 7 p.m. kickoff. Join the SVI-2 crew for some exclusive pre-game content from both schools. The game will have big 2A West post-season implications and the two squads have split the last ten meetings. The home team has won the last six.
Volleyball – The 3A West Conference Duals are this weekend in Lander. A key match with #5 Powell is Friday at 12 noon for the Lady Wranglers. This game will be played at Lander Middle School. The Lady Wranglers serve it up again on Friday at 3 p.m. against the Lovell Bulldogs at Starrett Junior High. The weekend continues with PHS taking on the Lander Tigers at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and then wrapping up with a tilt against Worland at 12 noon at the middle school.
Girls Swimming – Pinedale hosts the Jackson Lady Broncs in a duel on October 12.

Star Valley & Jackson have been playing football against each other since 1931. The 2018 chapter is Friday night.

Football – The 81st edition of the Fall Brawl is Friday night in Teton County as the #3 Braves face the #2 Broncs in a big 3A West clash. Historically the Braves have dominated the series but the two schools have split the last four meetings. Volleyball – It’s a huge match as the #2 Lady Braves host the #1 Kelly Walsh Trojans on Friday night at 6 p.m. Look for varsity video coverage at SVI-3 by clicking here. The Lady Braves will then host the Rock Springs Tigers on Saturday in a 1 p.m. varsity start. Video coverage will be available at SVInews.com.
Cross-Country – The SVXC team will go toe-to-toe with Wyoming’s best at the Twilight Duel against Jackson Hole High School on Saturday.
