SVI Media is excited to host SVI Day in partnership with the Town of Thayne and their America 250 Celebration!
Fundraiser for the Braves in Alaska
SVI Day is a fundraiser event for SVI Media! All proceeds will be used to cover extra travel expenses associated with covering the Star Valley Braves’ football team as they take on Soldotna High School in Alaska for their season opener. SVI hopes to broadcast the game to fans back home and around the globe who are unable to make the long trip to watch.
The winning team for each sports will receive at least $800 in gift cards to local businesses!
The all-day event includes multiple sports: 3-on-3 basketball, grass volleyball, softball, and 3-on-3 soccer. Registration for sports will be open May 25 – June 13 on the Town of Thayne’s website. Participants must be at least 12 years old for softball and 16 years old for all other sports. Players can register as a team or individually. (We will do our best to assign individuals to a team as available.)

Sports Tournaments
Grass Volleyball
Organized with the Star Valley Lady Braves Volleyball team and sponsored by Fall River Propane. Must be 16 or older. Coed teams with Competitive and Social Divisions.
3-on-3 Basketball
Organized with the Star Valley Football Team and sponsored by Hastings Ace Hardware. Male and Female brackets. Minimum 4, maximum 5 members per team.
3-on-3 Soccer
Organized with the Star Valley Soccer Club and sponsored by Simplot Smoky Canyon Mine. Male, Female and Coed brackets. Teams up to 6 players. No goalkeepers. Two 10-minute halves.
Softball
Organized with Thayne Town Councilman Joe Heward and the Recreation Department. Sponsored by Bank of Star Valley. Co-ed teams must have at least a 50/50 split. Must be at least 12 years of age or older.
More SVI Day Fun
SHAVE DAHL’S HEAD!
SVI’s Dahl Erickson has agreed to have his head shaved as part of SVI Day. In order for this to happen, a total of $1,000 in donations must be made! When the total is reached, a time will be announced when Dahl’s head will be shaved live during one of the championship games on SVI Media.
Dunk Tank
A dunk tank will be on site throughout the day, courtesy of the Thayne Volunteer Fire Department. Multiple local celebrities will be announced to be dunked! For a small fee, participants can throw a ball to try and dunk those in the tank.
️ 50/50 Raffle
Purchase tickets for our 50/50 raffle. The more tickets purchased, the higher your chances of winning! Tickets are $5 each.
Food Vendors
We are excited to welcome Cedar Creek Grill as a food vendor for SVI Day! They will take care of the main meal.
SVI Media will also have a concessions tent selling hotdogs, snacks, drinks, and candy. The SVI tent is also where you can make in-person donations for shaving Dahl’s head and the 50/50 raffle.
Additional 4th of July Events
The Town of Thayne has additional events planned for the 4th of July, including a 5K Fun Run, Firemen Breakfast, Parade, Dance Party, and Fireworks.
