TEXT-IN TOPIC RESPONSES: “Do you plan to get the COVID-19 Vaccine?”

As Lincoln County Public Health continues to roll out is plan for the COVID-19 Vaccine, Duke & Dahl asked radio listeners of the Weekday Wake-up on SVI Radio if they plan to get the vaccine when it becomes available to them.

Currently, public health is still working through the 1a prioritization schedule, which includes health care workers and emergency response personnel. Signups are being taken for those in the 1b schedule, which includes remaining health care and emergency response workers, anyone over the age of 70, National Guard, teachers and support staff and those involved in the food supply chain such as grocery store employees and meat processing employees.

No timeline has been given for when the vaccine will be available to the general public locally. Public health is currently outlining who will be in the 1c Prioritization Schedule. You can learn more about the distribution of the vaccine on the Lincoln County Public Health’s website,

Below are the responses to the text-in topic question. Feel free to add your own thoughts in the comments.

Will get vaccine

“Yes! I get every vaccine I can. Vaccines are wonderful!”

“I have done a lot of research. I am not a sheep. Yes I will get the vaccine.”

“Most Definitely! The vaccinations was developed for a reason! Don’t want COVID TO KEEP SPREADING till we all die from it.”

“I got it, not as much for myself but to protect others around me that Covid might affect more.”

“Yes for sure!!”

“Teachers should be higher on the list. I will get it.”

“Already got the first one- firefighter. Trying to do my part and keep me And my family safe.”

“Got it no problems.”

“Yes I plan on getting the vaccine. People who question it need to ask themselves would they not get the polio vaccine too?”

“I care for my mom so we will both get the shot.”

“If it will help get things back to normal, I’ll get the shot.”

“Yes ASAP. Age and health concerns.”

“Absolutely yes!!!”

“If it helps get the world back to somewhat normal, heck yes I’ll get it.”

Will not get vaccine

“No I won’t get the vaccine. Due to they developed it in less than a year and you can’t tell me there isn’t issues with the vaccine.”

“Absolutely not. And it SHOULD NOT be mandatory for anyone, if you’re vaccinated then you should be “protected”.”

“Absolutely not you can’t rush a vaccine without clinical trials and I’m not going to be a sheep.”

“Negative! Just not that worried about it!”

“No, not getting a vaccine that hasn’t gone through clinical trials. Especially for something with a death rate of far less than 1% on its own.”

“No! The story isn’t matching what we see. You all can get it first, we will wait and see what happens.”

“Nope, not getting it. With a 99% survival rate, seems to me our natural immunity systems are working just fine.”

“Not only no, but h*** no those that take it are sheep!”

“I am 83 & I have had covid. I am not planning on getting the vaccine.”

“Definitely Not.”

“Heck no I don’t support them. Don’t know what is in them.”
