Wyoming head football coach Craig Bohl and the football staff extended their sympathies to the family of a UW signee who is presumed drowned over this past weekend while celebrating with friends.

“Our hearts go out to the entire Moi Moi family at this extremely difficult time,” Bohl said in a released statement. “As a Cowboy Football family, we are all thinking of and praying for Naphtali, his family and his friends.”

On Thursday, April 18, Naphtali Moimoi was reportedly with friends celebrating their impending graduation when he was swept out to sea by a riptide. Authorities responded to the area but the search ended that night due to visibility issues according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. The SMCSO reported that the search continued on Friday April 19 but that no body was found.

A GoFundMe page has been organized to help the family at this time.

Moimoi had signed with UW as a defensive end and was expected to be on campus this upcoming fall.
