A standout wide receiver for the Wyoming Cowboys in the early 90’s who went on to enjoy NFL success, Ryan Yarborough was inducted into the College Football Hal of Fame on Wednesday.
Yarborough finished his career with the Cowboys by nabbing 229 receptions for 4,357 yards and 42 touchdowns from 1990-1993.
He was one of 22 individuals to be named to the 2025 class and becomes the third University of Wyoming player to earn that distinction. Tight end Jay Novecek was enshrined in 2008 and Eddie “Boom Boom” Talboom was inducted posthumously as a tailback in 2000.
A two-time First Team All-American, he set the NCAA record for career games with a touchdown reception with 27. After being drafted in the second round d of the 1994 NFL Draft, he went on to play for the New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravens as well as the XFL’s Chicago Enforcers.
The 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class will officially be inducted during the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Dec. 9, 2025, at Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
