Lady Braves run away with 4A West Regional championship

The Star Valley Lady Braves have been the favorites to win the team’s third straight state championship and heading into the final weekend of the season they look the part as they won the 4A West Regional in Evanston with 236.0 team points. The ‘Braves in Braids’ were 95 team points in front of second-place Pinedale who finished with 141.0. Kemmerer was third with 114.5

Individually, Star Valley had five wrestlers into the finals. Remington Aullman (135) and Veil Foreman (145) won regional championships while Carlee Angell (100), Keston Johnson (120) and Cara Andrews (140) placed second. 

Other placers included Paisley Harbach (8th), Oakley Hepworth (3rd), Lillian Anderson (3rd), Brooke Schwab (3rd) and Cashlee Hepworth (3rd). 

Star Valley has won the first two All-Class championships since the state sanctioned girls wrestling and are gunning to become the school’s third three-peat of the 2024-25 school year, joining football and boys cross-country. 

Both Veil Foreman and Cara Andrews will be returning state champions who are looking for their second title this weekend. 

The Wyoming State Championships begin on Thursday, February 27, at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper and extend through Saturday, March 1.
